This week was nothing short of miraculous in every sense of the word. First of all, Hermana Malo and I have been really really praying for miracles, for new investigators, for people to come to church, FOR A BAPTISM. And every single one of our prayers was answered this week. Starting with that we found 7 new investigators this week!! Most weeks it’s hard to find 2 or 3 but this week the Lord led us to 7 escogidos, so excited to work with them more and introduce them to this message that will change their life. Next miracle, people that have never been to church ever or haven’t been to church in decades came this week. We had 15 people en la capilla yesterday!!!!! That is like unheard of! Betty y Thalia came, Román who hasn’t stepped foot in the capilla in like 20 years came and stayed the whole three hours, that was a miracle in and of itself.
Okay the next miracle is probably one of the biggest miracles I have witnessed on my mission…on Saturday our sweet friend Emily got baptized!!! She is the daughter of Jaime and Claudia’s little sister, the story goes like this: Claudia and Jamie and their mom Iris were all super active when Claudia was little, she got baptized at the age of 8. Then as the years went by they went inactive and Emily was born but outside of the church and has grown up outside of the church. Last year the elders found Claudia and she made the decision to come back to church on her own. She wanted the gospel in her life and wanted to sister Emily to be able to get baptized!!! As she started coming back to church Emily came with her every week but their dad Jaime was going through lots of problems…but his heart was softened and he made the decision to come back as well. And made it a goal to be worthy to baptize his daughter Emily!!! The past year has been super hard for him repenting, interviews every week with the bishop, goals set and made, but he is now finally worthy to excercise his priesthood and on Saturday he baptized his daughter Emily (who decided to wait more than a year to be baptized so that her dad could baptize her!) and on Sunday confirmed her and gave her the gift of the Holy Ghost. This family has an amazing story and I am so grateful Hermana Malo and I got here just in time to be a little bit a part of their story and their conversion. It was the most spiritual baptismal service I have ever been too, not an eye was dry. The power of the Atonement is real, Jesus Christ is our Savior, we can repent and become clean only through Him! We have seen a change in Jaime and a new spirit in their family. I love la familia Villacorta and I am so grateful for this miraculous week we have had!!! Miracles come when we act upon our faith, this I know to be true!!!
I LOVE YOU ALL and hope you have a fantastic week,
